Biography
Junius Allen (1898–1962) was an American painter known for his landscapes and harbor scenes.  Allen studied at the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts and the National Academy of Design. He was an academician of the National Academy of Design and a member of the Salmagundi Club, where he later served as president from 1957 to 1959.  Like many artists of the time, Allen spent time on Cape Ann creating his art. His paintings were exhibited widely, including at the 1939 New York World's Fair, and are now held in collections such as Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Montclair Art Museum and Art Museum of the New Britain Institute.
